Literary Hub has news of multiple literary awards to celebrate.
First, author Patricia Engel has received the John Dos Passos Prize, which honors authors who experiment with form and voices and also deserve more recognition.
Engel is best known for the novel Infinite Country and most recently published the short story collection The Faraway World.
Also being honored: the ten recipients of the $40,000 Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant.
The award supports these authors' nonfiction works in progress, all of which have been deemed "original, ambitious projects brought to the highest possible standard."
