We don’t typically see authors declare that they’re writing for other authors, but Curtis Sittenfeld did just that with Writer’s Digest.

It makes sense — if you can impress your peers and competitors, you must be doing something right.

And, of course, Sittenfeld has done quite a bit right in her career, publishing several highly acclaimed novels, including her bestselling debut, Prep, in addition to short stories and essays.
