Sandra Beckwith began publishing in the era of word-of-mouth reviews.

The way readers recommend books to each other has clearly changed, but the fact that others’ opinions matters has definitely not.

So why don’t more people write book reviews, then?

Beckwith, the founder of the marketing website BuildBookBuzz, asked that question of as many readers as she could.

Her findings: They’re intimidated and don’t know where to start, and they think writing a review will take too much time.

Beckwith’s next step was to create a resource that would help encourage them to take the plunge and leave those oh-so-important reviews.

You can check it out on her blog.
