Routines get a bum rap sometimes.

For instance, we’ve heard that to maintain weight loss (or to prevent weight gain), just having the same old healthy combo for most meals can be beneficial.

And when writing, or so says Joanna Penn, following the advice of Gustave Flaubert — “Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work” — can pan out quite nicely.

In essence, he’s suggesting that you turn your everyday life into a comfortable routine so you don’t waste energy on making a ton of decisions.
