The Digital Reader has two updates from the world of ebook distribution.
First, Draft2Digital will be beta-testing a new distribution channel that will enable you to sell ebooks through Google Play.
More information for D2D authors who haven’t received an email about it or those considering joining the service is available here.
Second, Books-a-Million is reportedly shutting down its self-publishing portal, BAM Publish, and transferring accounts to FastPencil.
Nate Hoffelder is less sanguine about this announcement than the D2D one; you can read his concerns here.
