Fans of the Socratic method may enjoy author Roz Morris’s preparation method for outlining a novel.

Morris, who frequently appears on Joanna Penn’s podcast, has a guest post on her blog that describes the various questions an author can ask to set their novel up for success.

The queries start fairly basic — think who, what, where — and dive deeper, beyond the plot, into characterization, structure, universal themes, and your personal work method.
