From an outside perspective, shifting from one genre to another — or from fiction to nonfiction — might not seem like a big deal.
Writers, though, know it’s not always as simple as flipping a switch.
Kate White spent years as a nonfiction editor and writer (including time as the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine) but has since devoted her creative energies to writing thrillers and mysteries.
