We’re sure that what an expert would say is the biggest mistake an author can make would depend on what area that expert is, well, an expert in. 

So we’re not surprised that the cardinal sin, in marketing guru Penny Sansevieri’s eyes, has to do with marketing. 

If you’re going to rise above the noise (her theme for this year) and catch reader attention, you absolutely must know the right genre for your book.

Place it in the wrong category, and you run the risk not just of poor sales, but also poor reviews.
