If time considerations are prompting you to debate whether you should do a newsletter or a blog, Jane Friedman has an answer for you.
Well, the answer is that it depends on what you’re hoping to accomplish with either of those marketing strategies and what your current skill set is.
Friedman explains how each of the two benefits a writer and what challenges/drawbacks each poses in a recent blog post on the newsletter versus blog debate.
And for those who want to do both? Excellent — you’re certainly not required to, but Friedman has a suggestion for how to build audiences for both at once (which, again, is totally voluntary).
