Our heads and hearts often have very different goals.

Rationally, we know that valuable feedback can be critical; emotionally, we may want that feedback to be confirmation, instead.

Writer, coach and editor Lisa Cooper Ellison has experienced this contradiction, so she’s not judging anyone who recognizes themselves in this description.
