Writer’s Digest editor Moriah Richard has previously shared advice on how to go about world-building.

But she wants to make clear, this time around, that world-building isn’t just for any specific genre of writing.

For instance, think of the James Bond novels (or the movies they were based on) — certainly they’re set in modern times, but there are plenty of details to flesh out and keep straight.
