Scammers don’t go away — they just change their names.
And then, of course, Victoria Strauss posts about them at Writer Beware.
A conference invitation scam that a writer shared with her back in January never became widespread, to her knowledge, but she discovered why this month — the supposed organizer renamed itself.
Strauss shares tips on recognizing these types of frauds, along with a reminder to be aware of Goodreads extortion schemes (either threatening one-star reviews or promising to “take care” of them), in a post at Writer Beware.
