When you can’t be in another country, it’s certainly fun to pretend.

That holds true for readers and authors.

Writer Katie Crouch has a special message for the latter camp, if they’re thinking of whisking their characters and readers away to a foreign land.

Specifically, she has seven pieces of advice for writing about Americans abroad for a modern sensibility, and she’s sharing them at Writer’s Digest.
