Author Jenn McKinlay’s advice on crafting effective dialogue is already quite digestible, at five bullet points.

But if we were to condense it even further, we’d just say: listen.

Listen to other people’s conversations (seriously, McKinlay encourages eavesdropping!), listen to your self-talk, and listen to the dialogue in audio versions of others’ novels.
