The September edition of Desmond’s Drops is all about keeping your reader on the edge of their seat.

Desmond Hall shared his three quick tips with Writer Unboxed via video format, as usual.

The subjects are Alfred Hitchcock’s “bomb theory,” prompting the reader to turn the page, and building sentences that create suspense; the latter two come with specific exercises to help you apply the technique to your writing.

Each video is embedded below, and you can also head over to the Writer Unboxed post to see how other authors have reacted in the comments.

I enjoyed the short lessons. Building suspense has always been a problem in my writing. Thanks for the information on building suspense.
