As far along into the indie revolution as we are, you might think that certain myths about self-publishing would’ve faded away.

That would be nice … but several of them have stubbornly persisted.

Orna Ross and Joanna Penn took on a number of them, yet again, in an Alliance of Independent Authors podcast.

Several of them are early-stage, as Ross and Penn describe them, and those are particularly dangerous, since they can stop a writer before (or almost before) they’ve even started.

Some of them are beliefs from outsiders, while others come solely from within a writer or the writing community.

And all of these self-publishing myths are resoundingly debunked in the ALLi podcast, which is available in a transcript as well as in audio.
