When it comes to personality development, your secondary characters deserve a second thought — or even a few more.
Author and developmental editor Kathryn Craft isn't suggesting that you spend as much page time on the motivations, backstories, and desires of your supporting cast.
But she does think that as their creator, you're better able to give them the appropriate amount of dimension — especially as they interact with your protagonist — if you have a deep appreciation for their personalities.
