Visualization is a powerful psychological technique.

Author Barbara Linn Probst isn't suggesting it as a way to manifest your goals into a magical existence.

Rather, she's drawing on her previous job as a therapist to share a multidirectional tool.

The "magic question" of what's called solution-focused therapy invites you to consider how you would know if you had reached a goal.

That allows you not just to identify what, exactly, you're hoping to achieve, but also what strategies and routes you'll use to get there.
