Spotify has been making clear moves toward adding audiobooks to its portfolio for a while.
It seems like we’re almost there now, though.
New CFO Paul Vogel said earlier this month that testing and trialing of audiobooks will come "very soon," according to TechCrunch.
He predicted that the company's expansion into audio would be similar to its addition of podcasts, in that its user experience would give listeners a reason to switch from the platforms they already used.
Earlier in the summer, notes TechCrunch, Spotify suggested it could also provide personalized audiobook recommendations, like it does with music.
