A sense of urgency plays a role in buying decisions, no matter who is buying what.

Kristine Kathryn Rusch recently wrote a post about how the sense of urgency has shifted from the providers to the consumers in the publishing world.

And one way for the providers to reclaim some control is to use a Kickstarter.

Now, that isn't why Rusch and her company tend to use Kickstarters, but it does provide a transition from the post on urgency into a post on four key reasons Rusch does use Kickstarters.
