3 bad habits some writers have picked up from TV and movies

Authors hear a lot of advice about movie or TV techniques to implement in their writing.

And yeah, we post our fair share of that on our blog.

So here's the flip side of that trend: cinematic techniques that don't play nearly as well in written text.

Writer and editor Lincoln Michel has identified three in particular over the past few years: too much focus on faces, an avoidance of summary in scenes, and cluttered visual detail.
