Writer's Digest shared two interesting posts about historical fiction last week.

One of them is about a subgenre — historical fantasy fiction.

Whether its existence is news to you, or whether you're ready to give it a try, author Amanda Glaze has four tips for writing historical fantasy fiction.

And speaking of adding elements to historical fiction ... author Elizabeth Everett has some thoughts on anachronisms in historical romance.

Put simply, there is a reason for some of them (oral hygiene, anyone?), and others that you think are anachronisms might actually be realities.

Head to WD to read Everett's take on historical accuracy in romance.
