The publishing experts we follow have plenty of craft, marketing, and business advice to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • Giving readers what they need: Author Jarrett Lerner broke out of his humorous mold with a somewhat serious novel for young readers; he explains his thought process for doing so (Writer's Digest).

  • The birth (and the evolution) of ideas: Author Sarah Callender was able to articulate her brain's creative process, which we thought might be useful to help you work through writer's block or simply inspirational for you to do the same (Writer Unboxed).

  • Go wide or run away or Amazon fail: Kristine Kathryn Rusch has routinely recommended that authors not put all their eggs in one basket, so to speak, and recent business news out of Amazon further reinforces her conviction that this is necessary (Kris Writes).

  • The secrets to a perfect book release: Penny Sansevieri insists that yes, a perfect book release is possible, and she goes over what authors need to do to achieve that in an episode of her Book Marketing Tips & Author Success podcast (Author Marketing Experts).
