Two posts at Writer's Digest today paid tribute to genres that aren't the biggest-name ones out there.

Lee Kelly and Jennifer Thorne focused on a genre that was once quite popular: the literary adventure.

The co-authors of a new adventure novel put forth some theories on why it's fallen out of favor today and what it can do to recapture audience attention.

Mark Crilley, meanwhile, discussed an up-and-coming one: graphic novels and comics.

Crilley explores the stylistic differences between them and the traditional prose novel, from the vantage point of an author who has published in both.
