Well, we wish we'd waited to share the Kindlepreneur's post on purple prose, because now Dave Chesson has another colorful-language guide.

This time, he focuses on beige prose — simple words, short sentences, and minimal description — and how and when to use it.

It may sound like something to avoid all the time, but Chesson says it does serve a purpose.

(Catch up on his purple prose primer and, I suppose, stay tuned for a blue prose update later.)

Speaking of simple words and short sentences ... he also has a guide from author Eevi Jones on how to write a children's book.

But in this case, you won't be advised to skip the description in your writing.
