Artificial intelligence is definitely making its presence known in the creative world, and you're bound to feel its effects even if you don't use it.

Publishers Weekly reported yesterday that Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing is placing a limit on the number of new titles that one user can upload to the platform each day.

Now, you can only add three titles daily, and that number could decline further.

KDP stated that it hasn't yet seen a spike in publishing numbers, but the move is coming as a precaution against it as generative AI becomes more widely used.

So that's the great responsibility portion of the Spiderman adage — here's the great power portion.

The Alliance of Independent Authors reports that well over a hundred artists have signed an open letter that praises AI on the Creative Commons website.

ALLi notes that the goal of the letter is quite similar to that of letters critical of AI — that those whose careers are most impacted by AI deserve a seat at the table regarding key decisions about the legal and ethical issues surrounding AI.
