Two publishing experts recently shared posts on the topic of selling books direct to readers.

Dave Chesson surveyed nearly nine hundred authors who have tried selling direct; he shares the results of this direct-sales study, including the four key takeaways of who succeeds in direct sales, at his Kindlepreneur blog.

Joanna Penn, meanwhile, interviewed Alex Smith, who works for the independent printer she herself uses to do direct sales;  you can read or listen to that conversation at The Creative Penn.
