The publishing experts we follow have plenty of craft advice to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • Do you italicize book titles?: Dave Chesson answers this question according to varying style guides, so that no matter what you choose, you have a reason for how you format them (Kindlepreneur).

  • Five pitfalls to avoid when developing your protagonist: Savannah Cordova provides guidelines for how to put as much effort into rounding out a villain as you do your protagonist (Writers Helping Writers).

  • The craft of writing resentment: Author Jen Ferguson defines resentment, provides six steps for depicting it in your fiction, and shares an exercise on writing it (Writer's Digest).
