A big change to Facebook ads may not be coming until February 2020, but David Gaughran still wants you to be aware ... and be prepared.

Currently, you pick your budget at the ad-set level (which is where decisions on the schedule, the audience, etc. are made).

But in the future, that will change to the campaign level (which is where you determine the goal of the ad, like lead generation or website visits). 

In a nutshell — the feature, dubbed "Campaign Budget Optimization," will shift more control to Facebook's algorithms and leave less in your hands.

Gaughran explains the changes further and also recommends workarounds and adaptations in a new blog post.

As he learns more about the proposed timing of this shift, he’ll also update the note at the end on that subject.
