One more time, as if you haven’t heard it: The first page of your novel is absolutely essential for capturing readers.

C.S. Lakin brings this up not just to remind you that you must open strong, but also that it will reflect your novel’s strength as a whole.

Why? Because your point-of-view character can’t perceive anything with depth if that depth isn’t conveyed throughout the novel.
