We’ve seen and made the jokes about just canceling 2020.
Unfortunately, that’s out of everyone’s power, but rethinking your approach to the year and pretending we’re at New Year’s Eve again is well within your ability.
Kristine Kathryn Rusch shares her outlook and recommendations for the year ahead, this time factoring in the coronavirus effect, in terms of indie publishing.
The bottom line? Keep writing and releasing books.
Expect to make a few changes to the business plan and to see a drop-off in the fall — when the US goes to the polls, when traditional publishers release all their delayed books, and when coronavirus could very well surge back.
But don’t stop writing simply because you feel like it’s the wrong time. It is, in Rusch’s opinion, most definitely the right time to continue telling and sharing stories.
