A retired police sergeant recently shared his advice on writing crime fiction.

And if you read that post, you’ve checked off one of mystery and crime novelist Russ Thomas’s writing tips.

Thomas, of course, recommends doing relevant research — which could include consulting a Cops and Writers book — and he includes six other pieces of advice in his post.
