Book marketing coach Belinda K. Griffin wanted to add a third option to Jane Friedman’s recent post about whether authors should blog or build an email newsletter list.
No, it’s not to do both — Friedman acknowledged that doing both well is a tall order.
Griffin instead suggests that writers not able to commit to a blog of their own consider the option to write guest posts.
If you do that correctly, you can have your cake and eat it too, because a guest post can promote your reader magnet as well grow your email list.
Griffin has advice, both in principle and in practice, on how to use guest blog posts strategically at Friedman’s blog.
