Author Angeline Trevena has a few myths to bust about world-building.

One is that only certain writers need to do it — it’s a valuable exercise for authors of all genres, she says (and Joanna Penn agrees).

And another is that every detail you settle on in the process should make its way into your novel.

To listen to her and Penn discuss best practices for world-building, head to Penn’s blog, where there’s both audio and a transcript of the conversation.
