You may think of them by a different name or description, but you’re certainly aware of Big Issue novels, as Kathryn Craft has dubbed them.

They take on serious ideas, some of them political and contemporary, others more timeless.

But regardless of what you call them, if you’re compelled to write them, Craft has some thoughts on how to do them skillfully.

So many thoughts, in fact, that she’ll be returning to the topic again next month.
