Just because we at Fussy share advice on considering the big picture and the long term, when it comes to a writing career, doesn’t mean we find that way of thinking to be easy or natural.

So it’s with some relief that we share Joanna Penn’s interview with John Kremer on book marketing.

Yes, they discuss the importance of thinking long term, but they also emphasize that a manageable (and necessary) part of a long-term marketing plan is to simply do one task each day.

At least to us, that seems like a great strategy to keep your marketing efforts going longer than two weeks, which is where Kremer sees many authors give up.

And Kremer is the author of 1001 Ways to Market Your Books and founder of the Billion Book Initiative, so we trust him on this advice.

Read a transcript of his long-term book marketing conversation with Penn on The Creative Penn, which also contains a link to the audio.
