Being a self-published author doesn’t mean going it alone and doing everything yourself.

In fact, there aren’t enough hours in the day to make that possible, even if you do possess the marketing, design, grammar, and accounting skills to go along with the creative part of being a self-published author.

So you’ll have to enlist some outside help.

Orna Ross and Dan Parsons of the Alliance of Independent Authors devoted an entire podcast episode to the value — and necessity — of publishing teams.

The goal, they say, isn’t to outsource every non-writing task and bury your head in the sand.

Rather, it’s to understand the basics of these other tasks so that you can comfortably talk with experts who are doing the hands-on work in those areas.

To learn how to build a publishing team, head to the ALLi blog, which has both a transcript and audio of their conversation.
