We all know that writing "rules" aren't for everyone.
Some are simply not one-size-fits-all, while others are outdated or too black-and-white.
Sarah Penner, author of the bestseller The Lost Apothecary, began evaluating all the advice she'd saved throughout her early years of writing as she matured.
And she realized several pieces fell into those categories.
