Any sort of public figure has, naturally, a heightened sense of concern about their own safety.

Last week's attack on Salman Rushdie has underscored that truth and, understandably, boosted that sense of fear among some writers.

The Alliance of Independent Authors shared a recent post, in response to Rushdie's stabbing.

It opens with results of a survey of authors regarding their sense of security as well as ALLi's recommendations for how authors can keep themselves safe.
