Kris Rusch acknowledges that the most recent installment in her series on authorial failure may sound harsh, but it's an ugly reality.

Some writers fail because they want to fail.

It may also sound counterintuitive or nonsensical, but the human psyche is a very complicated thing. 

Rusch explores some of the reasons why writers don't actually seek publication, despite how they portray themselves publicly, in this new business musings post.

And if you identify with the authors in her post, she encourages you to seek qualified help, which she does not consider herself to be.
